World Down Syndrome Day: March 21st

Did you know? The 21st day of March was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication of the 21st chromosome which causes Down Syndrome. Every year on March 21, World Down Syndrome Day is observed to create awareness about Down Syndrome.

In honor of world Down Syndrome Day we used social media to share highlights on some of our friends from People’s Arc of Suffolk! Our programs also celebrated in support of their friends living with Down Syndrome by uniting as a community and as a family. The relationships that are developed throughout our programs have come to resemble a FAMILY and we celebrate that EVERY DAY at People’s Arc.

Lakeland Day Hab made signs and partied in honor of World Down Syndrome Day.

Community Based Pre Voc wanted to take a group picture to show support to their “crew member” Ashely! Ashley’s highlight is also featured below.
