This morning, we were given the opportunity to host an Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) panel through the HIA-LI at our Bohemia location. The panel was facilitated by Linda Johnson from PSEG Long Island LLC, and the panelists were Luis Vazquez from Long Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Inc., Dan Lloyd of Minority Millennials, Inc. and Robert Vitelli from LGBT Network. The panel discussion was about diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) in the workplace and how to sustain these values in everyday life. They all led an informative and lively conversation with the guests in the room!
John McGuigan, CEO of People’s Arc of Suffolk (formerly AHRC Suffolk) gave opening remarks on the topic and was also given a great opportunity to explain our organizations mission and vision, in order for people to learn about our nonprofit who may have never heard of us before!
